Recently, there has been an exhibition called “James I.C. Chiang- His Devotion to the Expo” in Songjiang District, showing his affections on Expo and his precious collections over the past decades.
Mr. Chiang was born in 1922 in Songjiang District. In 1952, he went to the United States for further study after scoring number one at a government exam to study abroad, and won scholarships from East Texas Baptist College for 4 consecutive years. In 1961, he became a citizen of the United States by a special act of the U.S. Congress, and acted as an advisor on Far Eastern Affairs to the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate. He has contributed a lot to the Expo 1964 New York, the “Expo 70” in Osala Japan and the Expo 2010 Shanghai.
