[Brief Introduction to Expo Emissaries]

The Organizing Committee of the Appraise and Selection of Expo Emissaries from Shanghai Municipal Middle and Primary School Students is a standing body, which, under the direction of the Bureau of the Shanghai World Expo Coordination, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, China Communist Youth League Shanghai Committee, East China After School Education Working Group, and After School Education Experts Committee of Shanghai Municipal Education Society, has been carrying out the appraisal and selection activity of Expo emissaries in recent years throughout the city with Expo as the theme and mainly oriented at millions of youths in the city. This activity is the only one Expo-themed municipal event targeting at students through official channels and registered in the Bureau of the Shanghai World Expo Coordination. Since 2004, the activity has been conducted several times and attracted nearly 200,000 middle and primary school students, among whom more than 400 Expo emissaries have been selected.
